Our rehabilitative care programs are designed for those striving to restore abilities lost due to stroke, traumatic head injuries, hip fracture, cardiovascular difficulties, orthopedic surgery, and other debilitating conditions. The programs at Ashford Hall vary in frequency and intensity and include physical, occupational and speech/language therapies. Our goal is to return our patients home safely with the skills they need to continue living life on their own terms.
After a fall, stroke or orthopedic surgery, people typically need a short term physical therapy regimen. Our physical therapy program focuses primarily on independent mobility, regaining strength and balance, using proper body mechanics and energy saving techniques to better perform mobility tasks.
People struggling with daily living activities like bathing, eating, dressing, self-care, and home management tasks can partake in our Occupational Therapy program. Participants gain strength and coordination while learning to conserve their energy.
Many people require speech or language therapy after a stroke or heart attack. Ashford Hall offers Speech/Language Therapy protocol to increase functional communication, cognitive skills and teaches safe swallowing by introducing diet modifications and special feeding techniques. Therapy may include muscle retraining, compensatory strategies, and use of communication devices.
Ashford Hall’s full-time, on-site interdisciplinary team along with the patient and their family members meet shortly after admission to map out the path to recovery by identifying discharge goals. We understand every patient has unique needs so our therapy programs are completely customizable. Our experienced therapy team monitors rehabilitation outcomes to consistently improve our services. We work directly with you and your referring physicians to prepare individualized comprehensive strategies for recovery.
